Over the past five years I have worked in the mental health field in a variety of capacities, including inpatient units, residential facilities, and day treatment settings. My experience and training with children, adults, and families in these settings has given me a practical knowledge and understanding when working alongside my clients to facilitate change.
As a mental health therapist at Forward Choices I have the opportunity to meet my clients and their families in the circumstances that they are in and make a collaborative effort to overcome the challenges they face. Each client’s history, perspective, and core relationship patterns are different which is why I believe each approach to change should be unique to the client.
In addition to being an outpatient therapist, I work part time with the social services department at Rogers Memorial Hospital. Forming relationships with clients and being witness to their progress and resiliency is something that has been rewarding. When I’m not at work I enjoy playing ultimate Frisbee, hiking, reading, and swimming.
